If The Shoe Fits........Make one in every color!

You wont believe how easy it is to make this fabulous shoe! All you need : heavy cardstock, glue, a lighter paper for lining, scissors, ribbon and bling of your choice, and a little imagination!

First, download the two templates for the shoe.  If you have the right kind of printer, you can print them right onto the paper.  Otherwise, trace the template onto the papers and cut them out.  I used this glitter cardstock that you can get from Target (2 for .99).  For the inside I used a silver adhesive paper. Cut the outside shoe first. Adhere the inside to the outside with craft glue or adhesive strip. Next, follow the dotted lines on the template to fold up.  Do your final gluing with a heavy craft glue that dries quickly.  I love Fabri-tac, which is like a hot glue in a bottle.  Hot glue will work as well.

Use your imagination to decorate your shoe.  Add some wrapped chocolates on the inside for a sweet gift. I used this one on top of a bridal shower gift with a big bow!  Have fun!

SILHOUETTE MACHINE GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

SILHOUETTE MACHINE GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

Is it too much to ask?

Commitment.  Some of you are about to move your mouse over to the X just from seeing the word on the screen.  It is something that I have had on my heart for a while now.  It is something that every organization, school, church and even person in a relationship struggles with and yet, it is vital to all of these institutions.  Am I the only one who has witnessed a decline in this trait once assumed of every productive citizen? As our schedules become busier we find even more excuses to not do what we say we will do.  I find for me, it is often in proportion to how much I am held accountable in one way or another.  For instance, I might run late to help set up at the church, but do you think those sweet ladies are going to say anything??? I would not be late to a hair appointment, Dr. appointment or to work!  Why? because I am motivated by the negative consequences.
Beyond this, it is even more rare to find a soul who will commit without wavering to something that requires long term work and sacrifice without seeking out personal gain.  For a number of years now, I have been blessed to be with a group of believers who come together and pray very early in the morning, often on the weekends.  The response I often get when people hear about this is "I couldn't do THAT!" I am convinced that the reason we retract so quickly when someone asks us to commit to something, is because we look at our own self and our own circumstances first, instead of looking at who God is and His purposes.  Should we give of ourselves only where it is easy?  What would happen if we quit saying "I'll have to think about it, I don't want too, it's too hard, I don't have time, I don't know how...and most honestly I just don't FEEL like it.  A wise person once said to me something I will never forget: "So what if It's hard?!"  Can we apply this when the next message of doubt or laziness comes along.  What if doing so caused someone else to wonder "who is this Jesus you are so committed to?"
Can we hold each other to account for the reputation of our Savior?  Let's do it.

What I am Making

So My friend's PRECIOUS daughter is having a "Little Mermaid" swimming party for her birthday.  I have just started playing around with vinyl on my Cricut.  I also like shadow boxes and found that you can get them super cheap at Big Lots if you just remove the stuff that is already in the pre-made ones that are supposed to be art.  In this case I made a frame that she can put her party picture in.

I removed the backing from the frame and removed the "art" that was inside.  I then removed the glass and cleaned it off with dry cotton.  I cut the images on vinyl ordered online in light sage green and bubble gum pink.  I used the "Life's a Beach" cartridge for the artwork.  I applied the vinyl on the outside of the glass.  I also added some acrylic bubble stickers for texture.  I lined the back of the frame using the original brown paper and adhering some self adhesive glitter paper to the inside of it.  On top of the glitter paper, I glued an alligator clip (swiped from my husband's paper clip container-sorry honey) topped it off with a ribbon and flower bling, then attached the bubble themed paper to the clip.  This way, she can just clip on the photo and have a ready made mat to frame the picture of this cutie!  I hope she will love it!  Kids love to see their names on things.  It is one way we can show them how special and unique they are !!!
You can check by blog roll on the side to see some of the craft blogs I am following.  If you want to add some things that you are working on, shoot me an email with a photo and I will try to add them as I get more savvy at this blogging deal!

Welcome Y'all

well, here goes my first blog post!  I have been looking and praying for a way to connect on a more personal level with other Christians who need encouragement and friendship.  I hope that you will come along with me.  Let's share some great ideas, great struggles, great recipes, and scripture.  I will share some with you!  Check my blog for great things to read, make and ponder. I crated this blog for us regular people.  I was looking on the net for a good blog for Pastor's wives and there are quite a few out there.  I don't totally define myself as "pastor's wife."  I think that if I did, I would find myself living in my own self-created fishbowl.  Anyway, the first one I found was this beautiful, almost too perfect supermom-wife-author-speaker from a giant mega-church.  I am thrilled for her.  I am not there.  I love my Church.  There is no dry ice and no tele-prompting. Moving on.....

Here is what I am thinking about today.  I will pose it as a question and you can talk amongst yourselves. What are you looking for in a blog?  In what areas do you need encouragement?
I love Y'all and hope to hear from you soon!
